Vans Vault and Japanese design brand, WTAPS, finish this season’s collection with the release of the Bones collection. This capsule, with staggered release dates, commemorates Vans 50th anniversary, as WTAPS approaches it’s 20th. With more than a decade of limited edition collaborations, this release does not fall short of the set standard.
Each piece of footwear in the collection features the recognizable, previously released, bones motif embroidered into heavy-weight canvas. Available in the Sk8-Hi, Chukka, and Authentic silhouettes, the collection features olive and black colorways, with iconic WTAPS labels stitched into the tongues and side-stitching. The Bones collection releases this Saturday, September 10th at The Vans DQM General.
Vans Vault and Japanese design brand, WTAPS, add another collection to their ongoing partnership, with the release of the Anaconda-inspired leather pack. This year’s larger capsule, with staggered release dates, commemorates Vans 50th anniversary, as WTAPS approaches it’s 20th. With more than a decade of limited edition collaborations, this release does not fall short of the set standard.
Rooted in Japanese design philosophy, WTAPS is known for basing design on the principle of necessity. Each Era in the Anaconda pack features a leather, reptile embossed upper with monotone detailing, available in black, blue, and off-white. Iconic WTAPS labels adorn the Era’s tongue and side-stitch, paired with flat cotton laces and metal eyelets. The Anaconda pack releases this Saturday, August 27th at The Vans DQM General.
DQM will be releasing its Summer 16 footwear collection in collaboration with Vans this Saturday, June 18th. Back to the beginning: skateboarding 101. As the sport of skateboarding was still emerging in the early 80s, its fashion was influenced by the colors and style of the times more than any specific skateboarding culture in and of itself: bright colors, bold fabrics and flashy graphics, and in NYC specifically, basketball style, tony sports culture, hip-hop style. Skateboarding in the 80s was owned by skateboarders; skateboard companies were run by skateboarders, and a feeling of youth and completely free expression permeated skateboarding fashion, there was no other marketing agenda.
The 101’s modernize some of our favorite details and silhouettes from these times in an updated Sk8-Hi Reissue LX. Pared back to simple fabrics in classic team colors, they have a vintage sports feel characterized by 80s and 90s East Coast skateboarding. Constructed in canvas with a premium leather side stripe and heel, details include a nylon tongue facing, cotton terry cloth tongue backing, removable striped ankle strap and The Vans DQM General logos in the footbed and at the heel tab. Available in three colors: black, white and navy.
Made exclusively for DQM and produced in a limited edition, the Sk8-Hi Reissue LX ‘101’s’ will be available in men’s and women’s sizes at The Vans DQM General in SoHo, New York as well as online on June 18th.

The artist Taka Hayashi has collaborated with Pendleton and Vans to create a special collection of footwear, alongside a custom Pendleton blanket, for the Holiday 15 season. The blanket, based on colors and imagery from one of Hayashi’s paintings, serves as the centerpiece of the collection, and is featured on the fabric panels of each footwear style, each of which is hand-cut and stitched to the uppers, making no two pairs exactly alike. The collection features two iconic Vans silhouettes in perhaps their most luxurious re-interpretations ever; the TH Slip-On LX and the TH Sk8 Huarache LX.
In addition to the custom Pendleton wool fabric, Hayashi has incorporated his signature moccasin-inspired aesthetic with a saddle leather trim atop an embossed midsole wrap into the TH Slip-On LX. The TH Sk8 Huarache LX features a diagonally dissected build in gray suede with a laser-etched heel counter and patterned quarter panels.
Renowned for his immaculate craftsmanship and high-end approach to sneaker design, Taka Hayashi continues to push the boundaries of the Vans footwear form in every project he produced, and this upcoming collaboration is unlike any other that has come before it. The entire collection will be available in-store only on Saturday, November 28th in limited quantities.

Vans’ new MTE (Mountain Edition) Fall 15 collection is arriving now in store. Improving on both the scope and technology in this collection every season, the MTE collection now offers us an impressive range of footwear - ‘designed for the elements’ - that truly works for everything the East Coast’s winter weather can throw at us. All new this season is the Sk8-Hi Del Pato and Del Pato CA MTE’s. Inspired by classic duck-boot design, used by hunters trailing ducks in wet and marshy New England rivers, the Del Pato silhouette modernizes the rugged hunting style, combining Scotchguard® and rubber materials, fleece linings, heat-retention layering and lug outsoles for superior durability and functionality, equally at home in the mountains or the winter streets of New York.
We took the new Del Pato collection to the mountains of New Hampshire for a true test of the elements. Shot in the rain, snow and ice of Bretton Woods, New Hampshire, by Connor Linde and Kevin Madden.
Vans Classics has just released an all new Old Skool, which is available in store now. Constructed from premium black leather and plaid printed interiors, the Old Skool features monochromatic soles, flat waxed laces, and metal eyelets.
The outdoor experts at The North Face have collaborated with Vans Vault this Fall to release the most technical footwear capsule in Vans history. Combining the highest quality of materials with advanced North Face technology, the footwear collection also borrows elements from Vans’ new MTE (Mountain Edition) line to feature five styles designed to face every weather aspect of Fall and Winter, especially here on the East Coast. Releasing in store only on Saturday, October 31st, the limited edition capsule includes three Sk8-Hi MTE LX and two Desert Chukka MTE LX silhouettes, along with a classic The North Face down jacket.
The Sk8-Hi MTE LX and Desert Chukka MTE LX silhouettes are reconstructed with gusseted tongues, reversed waffle lug outsoles, Cosmo™Comfort heat retention, The North Face’s proprietary winterGRIP® and a combination of water-repellant leather, suede, and micro ripstop uppers. The Cosmo™Comfort coating works between the insole and outsole to keep heat from escaping feet in extremely cold environments, retaining up to 9 degrees F within the shoe. The North Face’s winterGRIP® technology is a tacky rubber compound designed to remain soft when the temperature falls below freezing, and has superior slip resistance compared to traditional rubbers. The Desert Chukka is lined with fleece for added warmth, while DRI-LEX® materials and a HydroSeal® membrane are integrated into the build of the Sk8-Hi MTE LX; the high performance fibers of these textiles, sourced from The North Face, provide excellent moisture redistribution, protecting feet from water on the outside, and superior abrasion resistance. Each pair feature Vans x The North Face logos on each insole.
The collection also include a new take on The North Face’s classic Nuptse jacket, which features Vans’ signature checkerboard pattern as a print in black on black. The Nuptse jacket is treated with a durable water-repellent coating, fully lined with down insulation and double-layered in taffeta padding.
The Sk8-Hi MTE LX is available in Black, Blue Graphite and Teal/Toast, and the Desert Chukka MTE LX is available in Black, Hale Navy and Toast colorways.
The entire Vans Vault x The North Face will be available in limited quantities in store only at The Vans DQM General in New York on Saturday, October 31st.
Designed specifically for winter climates, Van’s new MTE (Mountain Edition) collection takes advantage of 20 years of snow boot design history.
